Juanying Xie received the B.S. degree in Computer Science in 1993 from Shaanxi Normal University, Xi'an, China, and the M.S. degree in Computer Application Technology in 2004 and Ph.D. degree in Signal and Information Processing in 2012, both from Xidian University, Xi'an, China.

She was remained as the faculty of Shaanxi Normal University in 1993 after she got her B.S. degree. She is a professor and Ph.D. student supervisor in the School of Computer Science of Shaanxi Normal University, Xi'an, China. Her research interests include machine learning, data mining, and biomedical data analysis. Her research is highly cited, with one article in the top 1% of ESI, and one the top3 hotspot article of “SCIENTIA SINICA Informationis”, and three papers in Frontrunner 5000.

She is an associate editor of Health Information Science and Systems, and an editor board member of the Journal of Shaanxi Normal University (Natural Science Edition). She is the members of several academic committees in China, such as Artificial Intelligence and Pattern recognition of CCF, Big Data of CCF, Bioinformatics of CCF, and Machine Learning of CAAI, Knowledge Engineering and Distribution Intelligence,  et cetera.
